Hand-carved and native to the cultural heart of Venezuela, this wooden cuatro becomes a vessel of emotional memory and spiritual voice. ArNoUx’s expressionist intervention introduces a haunting figure with translucent eyes, rendered through spontaneous, visceral strokes in earthy and electric tones. The floral embellishments adorning the neck suggest offerings—witnesses of sound now transformed into silence. Blending abstraction and figuration, Echoes from the Andes captures both the lament and resilience of a people through an instrument that once sang and now prays.
