Description:
The Silent Cherubs captures two ethereal figures suspended in a dreamlike, expressionist landscape. Their gazes—melancholic yet firm—communicate a sacred stillness. Cloaked in cool tones of navy and violet, the figures evoke a celestial innocence marked by sorrow or introspection, placing them in the realm of earthly angels or witnesses of a silent divine mystery.

The backdrop dissolves into a hazy architecture of suggestion: perhaps ruins, scaffolding, or sky-crossed memories. Brushstrokes vary from delicate mist to abrupt emotion, merging abstraction with figurative clarity. One cherub holds a faint halo of yellow and magenta—an intentional symbolic mark amidst the subdued palette.

Executed on sketchbook paper taped to recycled cardboard, the painting is raw and direct, as are many of ArNoUx’s works from this period. It invites quiet reflection on childhood, vulnerability, and sacred presence within urban ruin or personal reconstruction.
