Curatorial Statement:
The Garden of Little Angels unfolds as a spiritual terrain where innocence and fragility coexist within a raw, material-driven language. Created on recycled plastic sourced from a bed base, the work introduces a symbolic layer: a place of human rest transformed into a site of divine presence.
The angelic figures, loosely defined and partially dissolved into the surface, reject anatomical precision in favor of emotional intensity. They exist as transitional beings—neither fully visible nor entirely absent—inhabiting an abstract garden where matter itself seems to breathe. The gestural brushwork, combined with drips and dense pigment accumulations, reveals an intuitive and physical process aligned with expressionist automatism.
A restrained palette of grays, earth tones, and whites is disrupted by abrupt bursts of color—reds, greens, and yellows—creating tension between the spiritual and the earthly, the pure and the contaminated, the eternal and the fleeting. These “little angels” are not decorative forms, but silent witnesses to the human condition.
The use of recycled material reinforces a contemporary reading: what has been discarded becomes the ground for the sacred. In this work, ArNoUx constructs a visual theology where even the forgotten can be redeemed and transformed into divine presence.
