Curatorial Statement:

The Eye Beneath the Storm is a tempest contained within a frame. At first glance, the swirling whites and grays create a raw and chaotic vortex, but within it—quietly watching—rests a singular eye rendered in subdued grayscale. It evokes presence, consciousness, or even divine surveillance through chaos.

ArNoUx constructs tension through thick brushwork, impulsive gesture, and unexpected color: a slash of lime green at the bottom cuts through the palette like a blade, while the red and turquoise corners add heat and atmosphere. The viewer is left suspended—mid-disaster or mid-revelation—unsure if the scene is dissipating or just beginning.
