Curatorial Description:
Paradoxa is an emotionally layered table sculpture by ArNoUx, created by intervening a wooden cube originally designed by Venezuelan artist Rafael Montilla. Montilla’s intention was for viewers to “reflect themselves” in the surfaces of the piece — an invitation ArNoUx embraced with profound intimacy.

Through this artistic dialogue, ArNoUx transformed each face of the cube into a mirror of his own identity, painting expressive portraits and sacred symbols that represent different emotional and spiritual dimensions of his life. The figures embody the concept of the “family of the priesthood,” a divine kinship that includes all who live in the love of Jesus.

This sculpture is more than an object — it is a spiritual container of personal reflection. With bold textures and raw color typical of German Expressionism, Paradoxa communicates the sacred paradoxes of faith, emotion, and human identity in Christ. ArNoUx’s intervention turns Montilla’s universal canvas into a deeply personal testament: I reflect myself.
