The Witnesses on the Mountain unfolds as a vertical pilgrimage through memory, revelation, and spiritual ascent.
Three witnesses appear along the central path, gathered in conversation as the landscape rises toward a mountain. Behind them, fragments of ruins, a distant house, and the suggestion of a church emerge through layers of color and texture, creating the impression of a world suspended between what has been destroyed and what still remains.
Throughout the ascent, angelic figures appear at different levels of the composition. One seems to emerge from an icy, almost translucent presence beside an immense flower. Below, another angel appears accompanied by a parrot, while higher in the painting a solitary being continues climbing toward the mountain. Two additional angels remain nearby, accompanied by another flower, becoming silent witnesses to the journey.
The flowers function as signs of life within an otherwise weathered and fragmented environment. The figures do not occupy a single moment in time; rather, they seem to exist simultaneously, as if different generations, memories, and spiritual presences were sharing the same path.
