Curatorial Statement
The Cry the Angels Heard portrays a soul releasing the pain of generations through a visceral and deeply spiritual cry. Angels surround the figure from below, from both sides, and from every hidden corner of the composition—not as distant observers, but as compassionate witnesses receiving his sorrow.
Beside him appears an ancestral presence: a flower gatherer whose memory survives beyond time. The flowers symbolize the love, beauty, and fragments of hope collected throughout a life now gone. As the central figure cries out for his ancestor, his grief becomes a prayer. The angels listen, carry his pain, and transform mourning into a sacred connection between the living, the departed, and Heaven.
Created on a discarded cardboard box formerly used for dog products, the work transforms an ordinary, overlooked material into a spiritual vessel—affirming that pain, memory, and even what society considers disposable can be redeemed through art.
