Curatorial Statement
In Warriors of Light, ArNoUx presents two celestial figures emerging from an atmosphere of clouds, smoke, and spiritual turbulence. Executed in a minimalist yet emotionally charged German Expressionist language, the diptych evokes an unseen conflict taking place beyond the physical world.
The figure on the left appears as an angelic sentinel advancing through a luminous pathway marked by flashes of crimson and gold. These accents suggest divine fire, revelation, and the presence of sacred power. The elongated body and simplified anatomy transform the figure into a symbol rather than an individual, emphasizing spiritual purpose over earthly identity.
The figure on the right advances with greater force and authority. Holding what resembles a staff or celestial weapon, this warrior moves through dense formations of clouds as if directing heavenly forces in an invisible battle. The sweeping brushwork creates movement and instability, reinforcing the sensation of an active confrontation occurring within the heavens.
Rather than depicting violence, the work explores the eternal struggle between light and darkness, faith and despair, obedience and rebellion. The figures are not conquerors of flesh and blood but guardians of spiritual realms, advancing through divine clouds as agents of protection, guidance, and judgment.
