🧠 Curatorial Statement
In Two Angels Guiding Our Pursuit of Knowledge, ArNoUx redefines the book as a living spiritual field. The original function of the cover—as a protector of written knowledge—is transformed into a surface where unseen presences emerge and intervene.
The work suggests not a literal depiction of two angels, but a dual spiritual force that accompanies the act of learning. These presences inhabit the space between understanding and revelation, guiding thought beyond the limits of language.
The central face, built through gesture and material density, becomes a vessel of reception. Its fragmented expression reflects the tension between doubt and illumination. In true Expressionist language, form dissolves in favor of emotional truth: what matters is not what is seen, but what is spiritually perceived.
Chromatic interruptions—particularly the vivid oranges and emergent greens—act as moments of insight, disrupting the neutrality of the surface and signaling the arrival of knowledge that cannot be contained by text alone.
By using a repurposed book cover, ArNoUx asserts that wisdom does not reside solely in written words, but in the invisible forces that accompany and shape human understanding.
This work ultimately positions learning as a guided experience—one that is never solitary, but spiritually accompanied.
