Angels without knowing it
This 36 x 36 mixed-media work, presented in a stained-glass–inspired format, evokes a spiritual triad of guiding presences. The central figure, rendered with grounded, earth-toned features reminiscent of ancestral and indigenous physiognomies, suggests a universal guardian—one not bound by a single culture but rooted in the human origin itself.
The surrounding figures act as silent witnesses, layered in color and gesture, reinforcing the idea that divine protection often appears through ordinary faces. Rather than depicting angels as distant celestial beings, this composition brings them closer to humanity—intimate, watchful, and embedded in daily life.
