Curatorial Statement:
In God Angels Over the Rocks and Cubes, ArNoUx presents a dual spiritual presence grounded between the natural and the constructed worlds. The figures emerge as angelic witnesses, positioned symbolically over rocks and geometric forms—representing both creation and human-made structures.
The rocks evoke permanence, origin, and divine foundation, while the cubes suggest order, systems, and the rigidity of earthly constructs. The angels stand between these dimensions, observing, guarding, and revealing the tension between what is eternal and what is fabricated.
The composition centers on two frontal figures, stripped of ornament yet filled with spiritual intensity. Their faces, rendered through distortion and emotional abstraction, reflect the internal weight of their mission. They do not idealize beauty; instead, they expose presence.
The surrounding field of vibrant oranges, blues, and raw textures creates an atmosphere of spiritual heat and movement, as if the environment itself is charged with divine intervention. The white linear markings cut through the composition like signals or fractures—moments of interruption between realms.
Rooted in German Expressionist Figurative, the work rejects realism in favor of emotional truth. The angels are not distant or decorative; they are immediate, grounded, and active within the human condition.
