Curatorial Note
The Angel of the Flowers is a small sculptural work born from the transformation of an everyday object—a wooden jewelry tray—into an expressive artistic composition. ArNoUx intervenes the surface with layered acrylic paint, gestural strokes, and sculptural elements that emerge organically from the wooden structure.
At the center of the piece appears an angelic face that seems to rise from within the hollow of the wood, surrounded by a vibrant field of abstract forms and colors. The surrounding textures and chromatic explosions evoke a garden of flowers in motion, where painting and matter merge into an expressive visual language.
The small three-dimensional elements placed along the base function like seeds or organic fragments, reinforcing the idea of growth, transformation, and spiritual vitality.
Through this work, a utilitarian object becomes an intimate artistic altar where painting, sculpture, and assemblage converge. Within the tradition of German Expressionism, the piece privileges emotion, material presence, and gestural energy over literal representation.
The angel does not appear as a classical celestial figure but rather as a presence emerging from the chaos of color—an inner guardian of a symbolic garden.
