THE ANGEL OF FREEDOM, LOVE, AND PEACE
Dimensions: 18 × 16 inches
Medium: Mixed media on canvas
Style: German Expressionist
Year: 2026
Curatorial Statement – English
This work represents The Angel of Freedom, Love, and Peace—a figure that does not whisper, but proclaims through color, gesture, and expression. Emerging with strong expressionist force, the face becomes a visual manifesto where emotion and collective history converge into a single call: peace, love, and freedom through art.
Color plays a central and deeply symbolic role.
Yellow represents peace—not merely the absence of conflict, but the human richness of a people. It is living gold: dignity, light, and the enduring value of humanity.
Red embodies love, an intense and sacrificial love marked by the blood of patriots historically shed in the struggle for freedom in Venezuela.
Blue symbolizes freedom—the open sky, the sea of hope, spirituality, and faith in a possible future.
This angel is a visual cry. It belongs to no single territory, yet it rises from a specific memory. It is both spiritual and political, affirming that art can be a space for reconciliation, awareness, and collective healing.
The work is submitted for the 75th Anniversary Commemorative Exhibit of the Broward Art Guild, fully aligned with the theme of Peace, Love, and Freedom in Art, understood not as abstract ideals, but as urgent human values and universal truths.
