Description
“The Eagle and the Elephant” — ArNoUx (2025)
Acrylic on Cartulina Paper • Approx. 9 x 12 in
German Expressionist – Figurative Abstract
In this piece, ArNoUx merges two of the most symbolic creatures in creation: the eagle — vision, elevation, and spiritual authority — and the elephant — memory, wisdom, and ancestral strength. Through expressive strokes of black, rose, and soft blue, the artist dissolves their forms into one another, creating a hybrid figure that exists between the physical and the spiritual.
The upper structure evokes the head of an eagle rising upward, its beak open in silent proclamation. Its presence suggests clarity from above, the sharp sight that sees beyond what humans perceive. Below and intertwined, the softer and heavier shapes recall the silhouette of an elephant: an embodiment of resilience, groundedness, and the unbreakable memory of the soul.
