CURATORIAL STATEMENT
In this 12×10 Expressionist composition, ArNoUx reveals a secret world carved inside the trunk of an ancient, wounded tree. Layers of molten color drip downward like memories, forming the illusion of a cave hidden deep within the wood — a sanctuary protected by roots, shadows, and time.
The burnt reds, ghostly greens, and black vertical scars evoke a landscape that has survived fire, storms, and silence. Yet, within that destruction, a hidden home remains — a refuge for the spirit, unseen by the world but fully alive in its interior light.
This is a figurative abstraction where the tree becomes a guardian, the cave becomes the soul, and the textures become the testimony of every battle endured.
