🎨 CURATORIAL STATEMENT (ENGLISH)
“Love — The Way I Paint It” is a German Expressionist & Figurative diptych created on two recycled aluminum lids, each transformed into a vibrant emotional field. Painted with a combination of acrylic and textile paint, the work emerges directly from the explosive, colorful energy of the studio — a space where movement, color, and spirit merge without hesitation.
The first lid presents a haunting figurative face, sculpted with thick energetic strokes of reds, ochres, and deep shadows. The expression is raw and human, evoking vulnerability, memory, and inner fire. It is love seen from the inside — love as soul, as identity, as emotional architecture.
The second lid becomes the declaration: a pure red circle marked with flowing lines and the handwritten word Love. The contrast between the intense red and the soft script transforms the lid into a symbolic offering — love as message, love as statement, love as energy directed outward.
Together, the two lids form a circular dialogue:
one is the feeling, the other is the word; one is the human, the other is the divine.
This diptych stands firmly in the German Expressionist tradition — spontaneous, visceral, spiritual, and deeply psychological. Arnoux elevates everyday aluminum into sacred surfaces, proving once again that art is not defined by the material but by the energy that flows through the hands that create it.
